National Health Care Group’s Arbitration Agreement Upheld on Appeal
Lash & Goldberg LLP represented a publicly-traded, national medical group against an employed physician’s breach of employment contract claim. The physician sued the group in Florida state court, and the Firm moved to compel the dispute to arbitration pursuant to the arbitration clause in the employment agreement. The trial court granted the Firm’s motion to compel arbitration, and the physician appealed the order to Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal. Following briefing and oral argument, the appellate court affirmed the trial court’s decision compelling the case to arbitration and dismissing the case from court.
